Aviot Unveils World-First Tribrid Headphones With 140-Hour Battery and J-Pop Star Hyde Edition

Japanese audio innovator Aviot has announced the WA-J1, the world's first 'Tribrid' triple-hybrid driver headphones, setting a new benchmark in wireless audio technology. The WA-J1 will be available globally starting July 2025, with a special edition created in partnership with J-pop superstar Hyde.

Introducing Tribrid Technology

The WA-J1 headphones feature a unique combination of three distinct drivers: a piezo driver for high frequencies, a planar magnetic driver, and a dynamic driver for mids and lows. Aviot claims this configuration delivers "overwhelming information density and unprecedented acoustic performance," with very low distortion and minimal phase disturbance for exceptional audio precision.

Impressive Battery Life and Features

One of the standout features of the WA-J1 is its remarkable 140-hour battery life. While Aviot has not specified if this figure includes active noise cancellation, it sets a new standard for wireless headphone endurance.

The headphones support a wide range of audio formats, including LDAC and Bluetooth LE Audio (the latter via a future update), as well as AAC and SBC. Users can also enjoy adaptive noise cancelling with a transparency mode for situational awareness.

3D Spatial Audio and Gaming Enhancements

The WA-J1 offers adjustable 3D spatial audio, allowing listeners to tailor the soundstage from flat to highly reverberant environments using a control dial. For gamers, a low-latency mode is included to minimize audio lag during gameplay.

Availability and Pricing

The Aviot WA-J1 will be released in Japan in July 2025, priced at 39,600 yen (approximately $270 / £200 / AU$424), with worldwide shipping available. The special edition, developed in collaboration with J-pop star Hyde, adds a unique flair for fans and collectors alike.
